What is a Penis Pump used for?

I want to write a word or two about Penis pumps today.

What is a Penis pump?

A penis pump is an acrylic cylinder that is fitted over the penis, with a manual or motorized pumping mechanism to create suction.
This can be a squeeze ball, a hand grip, a plunger, or a small electric motor.
As the user pumps air out of the tube, the device creates a vacuum around the penis.Blood is drawn into the penis, helping it to become erect.
When the user has a full erection, he slides a "constriction ring" over the base of his penis.

This "cock ring" restricts blood flow so this way the man can maintain his erection when he removes the tube.
In the best circumstances erections can be held for a considerable time, but manufacturers recommend that rings should be removed after no more than 30 minutes. Having rough sex can also result in the bursting of a blood vessel

Warning!

As vacuum inside the cylindric tube increases, the difference between the blood-pressure inside the male organ and the air pressure inside the tube increases as well;
When this pressure becomes too high, it could cause vascular damage rather than a harder penis.
This brings us to the next question;

What is a penis pump used for?

Penis pumps or vacuum pumps, are used in conventional treatment of impotence.
The pump itself is essentially as described above, but often higher quality materials are used resulting in a much higher price.
These medical penis devices are distributed by suppliers of medical equipment.

Penis pumps are also used for masturbation.
In August 2006, Oklahoma district court judge Donald Thompson was sentenced to four years in prison for masturbation with a penis pump while presiding over court cases.

What are the risks of using a penis pump?

Pumping must be done very carefully to avoid injury. Blood vessels can burst and form blisters when the man pumps too enthusiastic. In some cases the testicles can be pulled into the penis cylinder and cause a lot of pain.
Doctors also confirm that the rim of the cylinder can cut into the skin and after years of use cause damage to the ligaments surrounding the penis.

Do Penis Pumps work?

Yes, they do. Doctors view the penis pump—or "vacuum constriction device," as it's called in the business—as a reasonable, as a low-cost treatment for erectile dysfunction (impotence).

A report from the American Urological Association reveals that constriction devices might be useful in cases where drugs like Viagra are ineffective.
Still, most men (or couples) don't like using the penis pump before they want to make love.
The report concludes that "low patient acceptability limits the application or use of this therapy."

So Penis pumps DO work if used for the reason they were designed for: to help with getting an erection.
They DO NOT work if you want to use it to increase your penis size permanently.
